Privacy Policy

• >Session data: dontlai.com does not require an account or login. We generate an anonymous session token in your browser to track your free-message allowance and any purchases you make. This token is not tied to your real identity unless you provide an email.
• >Messages you send: the text you type into the chat, and the AI-generated responses, are processed to run the Service and may be temporarily logged for abuse prevention and debugging.
• >Payment & restore email: if you make a purchase, payment card details are collected and processed entirely by our payment processor, Stripe — we never see or store your full card number. If you enter an email to restore a purchase on another device, we store that email against your session/purchase record only, to verify and restore entitlements.
• >Third-party content you submit: the "Trap a Friend" and "Founder Teardown" features let you type in another person's name and personal details, or your own startup/pitch material. See Section 7 below.
• >Standard technical data: IP address, browser/device type, and similar server log data collected automatically by our hosting and security infrastructure.

To provide the Service you're using (performance of a contract) — session tracking, chat delivery, payment processing. To prevent abuse and keep the Service running (legitimate interest). Where you've given it, your consent (e.g. providing an email to restore a purchase).

Stripe (payment processing), Supabase (backend data storage — session state, purchase records), and our AI model provider (to generate chat responses; message content is sent there solely to generate a reply — don't submit anything you wouldn't want processed by a third-party AI system). We do not sell your personal data.

Session and purchase data is kept for as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal/tax obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

If you're in the EU/EEA or UK, under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact whatnow@dontlai.com. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission).

We use only strictly necessary cookies/local storage required to run the session and checkout flow. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies currently. If that changes, this policy will be updated and, where required by law, we will ask for consent first.

By submitting info via "Trap a Friend" or "Founder Teardown", you confirm you have the right to share it, are not submitting sensitive personal data about anyone, will not use these features to harass/defame/seriously embarrass someone against their wishes, and are responsible for what you submit. We may remove access to generated content that violates this.

The Service is intended for users 18+, due to mature/dark-humor content.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no online service can be 100% secure.

We may update this policy; material changes are reflected via the "Last updated" date.
